Interim AIBC CEO

We are an organisation that is run by elected officials who now need to have sophisticated and well-run operations management to add value to our membership and maximise our impact in all circles of influence.

To this, I am very encouraged that Chris Mooney, Victorian AIBC Chapter President, has agreed to also take on the role of Interim CEO on a pro bono basis until June 30th 2019 with the option of extending this period.

We can expect to see the transformation of our operations management which will help provide exceptional value for all our members.

We are looking forward to working with Chris on this exciting journey. Read More

Vibrant Gujarat

As we draw to the end of 2018, our National Vice Chair, Sanushka Seomangal, is preparing to lead the AIBC delegation to Vibrant Gujarat on January 18th-22nd.

The AIBC enjoys a historic partnership with the government of Gujarat - it places us on the world stage with countries that have partnered with the government of Gujarat.

During the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, the 30-strong AIBC delegation met with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijaybhai R. Rupani, who expressed a keen interest in understanding the delegates‟ interests and assured attendees of the Gujarat Government‟s full support. Commenting on the success of the delegation, AIBC National Vice Chair and delegation leader Dr Jim Varghese said, “The Australia India Business Council is proud to once again partner with Vibrant Gujarat for the biennial Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2017 as part of our commitment to providing our AIBC members with the best business opportunities to develop valuable partnerships with business, government, and industry in India. AIBC is honoured and grateful for the strong indication of support from Gujarat Government. This is a platform for businesses and influencers to come together to explore some of the current global opportunities.”

National  Industry Chapters
The next generation is important to AIBC, and building next-generation AIBC business leaders is a critical to our future. In line with that, we have recently launched the AIBC Young Business Leaders (YBL) Chapter and the AIBC Sports Chapters. They will be joining existing AIBC Women in Business and Energy and Resources Chapters and play a key role in developing relationships and exploring bilateral business opportunities. In  2018 AIBC added few more Industry in addition to the exisiting National Chapters including Health, Education, Energy and Resources  Digital, SME Startup and Corporate Chapters. Each of these industry chapters will be led by outstanding professionals and business leaders. These national chapters will also provide AIBC with a sharper focus to deliver value for our members, and meet their expectations.

New Technology
We look forward to facilitating trade and investment in 2019 using innovative tools like the Red Tool Box that will enable us to use new technology to connect and broker business to business dealings.

Hotline for AIBC members
I have introduced a hotline for AIBC members to ask questions and also help us to embrace continuous improvement.
2019 promises to be a year of change and innovation that will better place the AIBC to increase the trade and investment relationship between India and Australia

Best regards
